How to Make Paneer Chilli at Home

Step 1: Sauté the Vegetables

Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced onions and capsicum, then stir-fry for 2–3 minutes. Keep the vegetables slightly crunchy to achieve the perfect Indo-Chinese texture.

Step 2: Cook the Paneer

Add the paneer cubes to the pan and toss them gently with the sautéed vegetables. Cook for another minute, taking care not to break the paneer pieces.

Step 3: Prepare the Chilli Sauce

In a separate bowl, combine Hillers Paneer Chilli Masala with 2 cups of water. Stir until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and mix everything well.

Step 4: Let the Gravy Thicken

Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally. As the sauce cooks, it will thicken and coat the paneer and vegetables with a rich, flavourful layer.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped spring onions. Serve your homemade Paneer Chilli hot with Hakka noodles, fried rice, or steamed rice for a satisfying Indo-Chinese meal.

Tips for Making Delicious Paneer Chilli

  • For a dry version: Reduce the amount of water and cook until the sauce coats the paneer without leaving excess gravy.
  • For extra spice: Add chopped green chillies or chilli flakes according to your taste.
  • For more vegetables: Include mushrooms, baby corn, or additional bell peppers for extra colour and texture.
  • For softer paneer: Use fresh paneer and avoid overcooking it.
